The Big City Volleyball League is always on the lookout for qualified
individuals to enter our Referee Training Program.
To qualify, you should possess an extraordinary knowledge
of the game of volleyball (the rules, subtleties, and
of course complete mastery of what is and isnt
a carry, etc.). Ideally you have officiated previously (possibly in college,
at tournaments, for club play, USVA play, etc.). If you have never officiated,
you may still qualify if you have very strong volleyball skills, been playing
volleyball for a long time and truly know the game inside and out. You are most
likely NOT qualified if you have been playing the game for just a few years,
or if you havent really spent much time thinking about the minutia and
details of the game and its rules. But we have found that extremely high level
players with good people skills (and a love for the game) can make very good
refs, after a little training in how to officiate the Big City way.
Ref candidates should be available to work one or two evenings a week, and of
course you will be compensated for your labors. If you are interested, please
send an e-mail briefly summarizing your qualifications and interest to: info@bigcityvolleyball.com
