WELCOME TO THE BIG CITY VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE!

Big City boasts 4 seasons a year (with a new season starting every 3 months), each consisting of a preseason ranking scrimage for new teams,10 regular season matches, and two weeks of playoffs. Teams play the same night every week (based on their own preference). Members get a league T-shirt, games officiated by professional refs, and discounts at local eateries. The league is divided into 7 levels, from absolute beginners to serious college-level players, so you or your team will be placed at the level that's right for you. Come and join Big City Volleyball...it's lots of fun, very social, and a good workout to boot!

Beach Volleyball Summer 2008

Big City Volleyball is proud to announce that we are teaming up with Metro Beach Sports this summer to bring beach volleyball to New York City! Click Here for more information.

That's right, we've been real busy over the Winter and can announce that we've joined Metro Beach Sports to help expand their venue to FIVE beach courts at Water Taxi Beach. Located just one subway stop from Grand Central or a quick ride on the Water Taxi, Water Taxi Beach is a beach bar located on the East River in Long Island City.

Winter '07/08 - Division Champions


It was standing room only during Big City's Championship Night on March 31st, as the ten finalists of the Winter '08 season battled it out for their Division Titles.

Despite being the #4 seed in the playoffs, Shake N' Bake took the golden volleyball 15-13, 15-1, over Team Matrix, to win the Div. 2 title.


There was no lovin' for McLovin' as they lost to INC. (pictured here) 15-10, 8-15, 7-15 in the Div. 3 Finals.


The CG Closers closed out a terrific season with a big win over the Winter '08 Bynum Award recipients No Court For Old Men, 15-11, 14-16, 15-9, taking the Div. 4 crown.


Hopefully, the Knicks will be able to rebuild as quickly as IBV did this winter, capping off a great playoff run by defeating QBE Spikehouse 15-9, 15-9 to win the Div. 5 Championship.


It was High-Five's all around for HighBridge, as they swatted the Bee's 15-10, 15-10 to win the DIV 6 finals.



Fall '07 - Division Champions


After just barely squeaking into the playoffs, the Hedge Hogs capped of a great postseason run by defeating Out Of Office 15-9, 15-1 to take the Div. 6 title.


With 4 different divisions in level 5, both finalists came from 5C, with Bump U bumpin' off Bubba Bump Shrimp, 15-9, 15-1, to capture the Div. 5 championship.


V was for Victory,
as the Killer V's knocked off
Just The Tip in a battle of regular season division winners,
9-15, 15-7, 15-12, to grab the Div. 4 crown.


Orange Krush lived up to their name, defeating T.E.A.M. for the Div. 3 championship, 15-9, 15-8.
